Here is a very simplified view of what happens when you start a Session: The Interwrite Response Receiver sends out an invitation to join the Class by way of the Class channel it has selected. The Receiver listens for signals from RF Clickers that are joining the Class. When it receives a join request, the Receiver sends a message back to the Clicker that it can join the Class. After a PRS Question has started, the invitation to join the Class happens less frequently, so students trying to join at that time may not be able to.
